Membership dues

We're setting up membership types/dues and would like the current sign (from this date onwards) ups to have their membership begin Jan 01/08.

The memberships are for the calendar year, but reset themselves after the org's AGM every year so that you are applying and paying for the following year.

Make sense?

Think I may have just found my answer, but would like verification.

If I set the Fixed Period Rollover Day to any day after our annual AGM (ie. June 01), then the membership would only begin the following Jan 01. Is this correct?

thanks

As noted on the Membership Type screen, Fixed Period Rollover Day field:

"Membership signups after this date cover the following calendar year as well. Example: If the rollover day is November 31, membership period for signups during December will cover the following year."

So if your setup is:
Fixed Period Start = Jan 01
Fixed Period Rollover Day = June 01
Duration = 1 year

... if I signup today (Oct 1, 2007) - my membership would begin today and end on Dec 31 2008 (since today is after the Rollover Day).

Gotchya thanks.

So I guess in order to get people to renew for the following year prior to Dec 31, we would just have to send out renewal reminders.

Thanks again

I'm not sure what your desired results are for the two cases - New Signups and Renewals....

If someone is renewing an existing membership using the setup described below - I'm assuming you want their membership to continue through the end of 2008. And this is what will happen.
