Internet Explorer popup error

I have a profile for editing in drupal accounts. In Firefox everything is working great. But in IE 7 I get an error clicking on any select list from civicrm in the profile. I get: pop-up blocked. To see this pop-up or additional options click here... I get this even with the pop-up blocker off  ???
In IE 6 I get an information bar with the notice: Your security settings do not allow Web sites to use ActiveX controlls installed on your computer.
But I thought there are no ActiveX controls on a civicrm page.

Anybody any clues?
