Hi all,

My issue is the same as this topic http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,1070.0.html, but that didn't seem to get resolved and moved on to another discussion, so I am reposting the issue as a new thread.

When I try to enter in a new individual or organization, or if I try to check for duplicate contacts, I always get this message:

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.

Could not find valid value for ct

From what I can tell from my users, it was all working properly last Friday morning, but by the afternoon the error had started. It doesn't seem like any configuration changes were made in that time (according to the other IT people on this project). I tried resyncing my drupal users to CiviCRM. It appeared to go successfully, but it did not solve the problem. I am using:

I read the rest of that thread, and I got pretty lost. But it sounded like Lobo thought it was with the Drupal session. So I cleared out my sessions table, and then I logged in again (I am under a Drupal role that has ALL privs in both drupal and civicrm). I then went to new individual contact, typed in a name, and checked for duplicate...it worked correctly. This seemed good. So then I went to enter the contact, and got all the same errors again. So when I first logged in, I checked my drupal sessions table. I am not sure if this is helpful, but I will post it below. I am also on IRC in CiviCRM, my name is sw9. Just to keep this updated in case others are following; I worked with Lobo the other day and he had me reset the collation on my Drupal sessions table to utf8. I then emptied this table, as well as my Drupal cache table. It still did not resolve the error though.

I was able to determine about when the error began, and this morning I restored my CiviCRM DB (not my Drupal DB) to where it was the morning before the errors began. I was able to successfully add contacts, organizations, check for duplicates, etc. I am now planning to compare that DB with my DB from after the errors began, but I'm not sure I'll be able to track down exactly what happened. This makes me concerned that it could happen randomly again...

I did not ever end up figuring it out; there was not a ton of data added between my last backup and that db, so I ended up having to revert to a backup.
