Multiple Issues w/ CiviContribute on IE8 in an iframe
March 03, 2010, 01:42:52 pm
We have a client who is pulling his CiviContribute page into his website. There are two odd issues happening - and only happening with IE8 w/ an iframe.

If you go to this main site: http://jimforsythe.net/contribute/ you will see the first step of the contribute form, in some cases when you click continue, you will get this error:

Quote
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
Could not find valid Key

Return to home page.

however, when you go directly to the contribute page it seems to work: http://nhdonate.com/standalone/index.php?q=civicrm/contribute/transact&reset=1&id=1

If you then go back to his main site it try filling the first page out again, it goes to second page without an error (sometimes?), but if you continue from there it brings you to paypal (to actually make the contribution) and gives you this error:

Quote
Sorry — your last action could not be completed
If you were making a purchase or sending money, we recommend that you check both your PayPal account and your email for a transaction confirmation after 30 minutes.

If you came to this page from another website, please return to that site (don't use your browser's Back button) and restart your activity.

If you came from PayPal's website, click the PayPal logo in the upper-left corner to return to our home page and restart your activity. You might have to log in again.

Of course it works fine from the direct contribution page. Also, this seems to be working from every browser except for IE8 and only appears to be affecting IE8 when in an iframe.

Any ideas?

Thank you.
Lew A

He's currently on CiviCRM 3.1.1 Standalone w/ PHP5, MySQL5.

I have not tried, but I don't think it will work in an iframe.

Kurund,

It seems to work fine in Chrome and Firefox... I found out last night that there is also the same issue with Safari and older versions of IE.

Why shouldn't it work in an iframe?

Thank you.
Lew

I was not sure about session handling. Hence I mentioned it might not work.

It would be great if you can submit patch for Safari / older versions of IE

Thanks,
Kurund

Just wondering if this progressed - this is a WordPress site - right? And you were able to use an iframe to expose a civicrm contribution form including the thank you etc (ie the session worked fine) - did you sort this to work for IE and Safari? (i just checked in Safari and got a 'We can't load the requested web page' so i suspect the answer is 'no')
