I need to apologise - the site I was seeing this on was 3.0.2 and upgrading to 3.1.3 fixed it.

Coincidentally, I am having this problem with 3.13 and Joomla 1.5.15 right now.

My profile might be wrong, but I have both a primary and a home email address on the profile, and have checked that it "must" create a Joomla account. I have also tried setting it to "optional". Nothing seems to call it up.

I don't see anything in the phperror.log file at this point either.

(Just in case fixing something for Drupal broke it in Joomla)

this is an open issue and should be fixed for joomla in 3.1.4

We are not able to replicate this again and seems to working fine on 3.1.x

I am still able to replicate this issue on the demo site, unless this is the wrong demo site.  So I am never seeing it work correctly.

The demo DB was reset, so I recreated the test on the Joomla demo and things work as expected...

1. Logged in to 'admin site'
http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/administrator

2. Components >> CiviCRM >> Administer >> Customize >> Profiles
- verified that 'Supporter Profile' has 'Account creation required' in Settings and includes an Email Address field

3. Menu Manager - created a CiviCRM menu of type Profile >> Create and selected 'Supporter Profile'

4. Logged out, and clicked the front-end menu link:
http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&view=Profiles&Itemid=7

5. Got the expected user acccount fields (username and pw) plus the 3 profile fields (screenshot attached)

6. Submitted form (ok)

7. Logged in again as admin to verify that the new user was created - which it was.
