special caracters in username -> bounce email

Hi,

I work with french contacts.
I had 3 bounced email, tried again en again. always the same results.

then I remove special caracters from first name or lastname.And the mails aren't bouced any more.

I would prefer not remove special caracters : any other solution ?

Can you update to 3.1.3? We fixed an issue that would cause this there.

(I removed the other topic, as this is definitely a CiviMail issue, and affects everyone trying to mail non-Latin-only contacts; CiviMail should simply work with any addressees’ names, regardless of the chosen language.)

I had this problem once with a conversion, and it boiled down to a difference between Unicode and Latin in the MySQL table settings......but try upgrading first, that makes more sense to me :-)

I've upgraded from 3.1.1 to 3.1.3 and made a test mailing with special caracters. it's OK
