Blank Screen after Successful Installation
March 07, 2010, 10:21:53 am
Hi,

I am trying to install the latest CIVICRM on Joomla (it seems to have the same issue on other versions 3.1.2 / 2.1) . Unfortunately, it does not go quite well.

I followed the instruction for the Joomla installation and it all went well. But when I click the following from the Joomla Backend, "Components -> CiviCRM", a blank screen comes up.

I turned on error_reporting to error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE | E_STRICT

The last Strict Notice I see is
Strict Standards: Non-static method JFactory::getDBO() should not be called statically, assuming $this from incompatible context in /home/www/reboundhealth.dev01.vicosys.com.hk/htdocs/cms/libraries/joomla/database/table.php on line 112

I went thru all the FAQ and troubleshooting steps but none of them seems to work in my setup.

Could you please guide me thru this?

thanks

Deepak Srivastava

What joomla version you using ? I just did a grep for that static method in joomla 1.5.15 codebase and found lots of such static calls. So not sure if thats really a problem.

Checking apache logs will give a better clue. Also do a forum search and see if any solutions for "the blank screen" works for you.
