Can we have Tags for an event, and then be able to search them

Basic Event Search will be added in 2.0:

You can use Event Type as a "tag-like" mechanism (altho you can't assign multiple types to an event).

If you still feel event tagging is important - you should provide details about why it's important and think about contributing a patch or resources to make it happen.

We have participatns who belong to a group " PGroup 1" Pgroup 2.. and then we have events that are associated with "EGroup 1" or Egroup 2. the idea would be i can search all events that are under Egroup 1 or E2, , be able to restrict registration , to allow only Pgroup 1 to register for event Egroup 1

Event types could work as tags, but it would good to be able to select more then 1, to be used for the type of event it is.. classes, lecture, soical, etc. and to include speakers, this way i can do a search of all the participants that went to a certain type ( tag) event, or to a certain speaker.
