Cancel Subscription for PayPal Standard monthly donors

How do people generally handle the "Cancel Subscription" option for PayPal Standard donors who are making monthly payments? Right now we use a button provided by PayPal. Is there a more CiviCRM-integrated way to do this?

Poking this thread to see if someone will reply. I am ready to roll out our live PayPal standard donation page and am not sure how to handle cancellations. (Currently we put a PayPal-generated button on our non-CiviCRM page.)  Also: once people cancel, will we need to manually update their contribution in CiviCRM?

you will need to test this, but i think recurring paypal standard does handle cancelled contributions. paypal IPN sends us a cancelled IPN and we record the recurring as cancelled

So far there's no data to test cancelled subscriptions being transmitted to CiviCRM, but I am noticing that new payments toward subscriptions initiated before our CiviCRM page was live are not appearing in CiviCRM.
