Matching CiviCRM Field
March 11, 2010, 11:01:18 am
Hi, I'm trying to import members and in the second step "Matching CiviCRM Field"  I see the drop down with the different options.  How do I create my own custom fields.  I've been doing it in the Custom Data section but I realize that is something different. Please help.

Are you importing contacts or membership records? Sounds like membership records. The matching field is the internal id, external id, or name fields which Civi will match on to add the member records to the appropriate contact records.

You may import data to custom fields as well, but those are not fields you can match on.
