We're considering building a site using Drupal Gardens. Is CivCRM compatible? Is there any issue with integrating CiviCRM modules using the Drupal Gardens interface?

CiviCRM currently supports Drupal 6, and work to add support for Drupal 7 will probably begin when Drupal 7 is out of beta and in a late release candidate just before launch. It is expected that providing support for Drupal 7 will be a small project, and community members are encouraged to take an initial stab at it.

Drupal Gardens is currently running Drupal 7 alpha code, so there is currently an incompatiblity. At least initially, to use any user contrib module not in the set deployed on all Drupal Gardens sites you will need to export your site from Drupal Gardens and deploy it on a different host. At that point you can add CiviCRM, or other user contrib modules.
