HTML Editor for Message Templates
March 17, 2010, 11:48:41 am
Just about to upgrade to 3.1.3.

One feature highly anticipated by our users is html event confirmation emails.

In looking at the demo site under Administer CiviCRM > Message Templates

whilst there is an html email area, there doesn't appear to be an html editor.

Is it possible to have an editor here or do we need to compose in our own html editor (like Dreamweaver etc) and paste in?

Hope this isn't a silly question and something just not turned on in the demo site.

I did look through admin section and ckeditor is selected as html editor..

Cheers.

Civi does provide ckEditor HTML editing in many places. However, the system message templates need to have lots of 'logic' built in to them ('smarty' code) - which doesn't work well in an HTML editor. You can use a 3rd party editor and paste in PARTS - like the clearly marked header sections. But you probably can't take the entire template and put it in another editor.
