I am using Drupal 6 and CiviCRM 3. I set up a profile with a few standard fields. I want anonymous users to be able to fill out the profile form, and have their information get sent directly into the civicrm contacts database. Here's a link: http://bartenfelder.vmtllc.com/civicrm/profile/create?reset=1&gid=7

When the form gets filled out, i get the following error:

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
Could not find valid value for gid
Return to home page.

If I create a standalone html form and place it on an html page, the form seems to go through without a problem, it only happens when i use the civicrm/profile/create, and happens when I am logged in as user 1.

I appreciate any help or advice that anyone can give. Thanks.

I am new to civi also but I'm getting this error with a joomla/civi install. I got rid of the error SOMEHOW my recreating a new profile. I don't know what I did but the error is back. I think the ID's aren;t staying in order it looks like, though I don;t know if this is the issue. im working on it now and will report once i'm sure what fixes it.
