outgoing email amount limit
March 29, 2010, 12:58:49 pm
I have two questions:
  • The 3000 emails/month are per calendar month, right?
  • Is there a way to "check the counter/balance", or do we have to keep track of how many emails we've sent per month on our own?

Thanks!

1. correct, it is 3000 emails per month
2. if you go over 3000 emails the  monthly invoice we send you will specify how many mailings you sent above 3000 emails. Additionally you can keep track on your own as well.

It would be extremely useful to have a counter on how many have been sent. Presumably you track that internally, so it shouldn't be too difficult to slap it up under the user account information.

Hi,  thanks for the suggestion.  It is certainly something that we will consider!

As a note,  you do get a breakdown (bounces, unsubscribes, replies, etc.) on each mailing that is sent via CiviMail so you can get an idea of the running count each month that way.   A way to get a rough estimate would be to look at a mailing report and add the intended recipients + replies + forwards.  this is just a rough estimate as there are other mechanisms in CiviCRM that allow you to send email as well.

thx!
