search or report on 'how many renewed in last month'
March 30, 2010, 11:22:43 am
hi - hopefully someone will point to my blindspot here.

we want to do some search or reporting to show how many contacts have joined (new), renewed, rejoined (had a previous lapsed membership), gone in to Grace (and not renewed yet) and expired. and we need some custom contact data in with the mix.

i thought we could get there initially via an export from Find Members of both the Primary Fields (since this includes some Contribution data) and a Custom Fields export (to get our custom data) and then just sort them both in to same order and join.

But the Primary Fields does not include the Source which would have given helpful info such as "Membership: Offline membership renewal".

It may be feasible to do various math on the start/end dates to identify who has rejoined but am hoping there is a more obvious trick to getting this sort of a 'snapshot'.

I can see the Lapsed Membership report being helpful towards this but am keen to avoid too many separate bits of the puzzle.

Any pointers? Thanks

(ps like the thread here http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,4059.0.html the situation is more difficult as most of the membership data has just been imported so we don't have all the benefits of data that we might have if memberships were created on the DB such as the linkages between Memb and Contribs)
