Settings - Miscellaneous Empty
March 30, 2010, 11:28:57 pm
Hi.  Using Civicrm 3.1.3 with drupal 6.x (pick your daily update) and it installed well - the second time I tried.  No problems until I went to set up reCaptcha, when I follow the admin menus to the Misc. Settings all I get is my basic drupal blocks etc and then:

Home » CiviCRM » Administer CiviCRM » Global Settings » Settings - Miscellaneous
Settings - Miscellaneous

And nothing more. I am new to this but not a complete nubidiot .... any idea what could be wrong?  Everything else is working perfectly, I went right through the menus and checked.  I had to do a complete reinstall when the first attempt went haywire.... perhaps there is a chance something didn't uninstall right?

Thanks in Advance!!!  Oh, and if it is something really stupid, please help me maintain a smidgen of dignity when you explain it  :-[

check your resource urls at Global Settings > Resource URLs as well as your site directories at Global Settings > Directories. Make sure both those are set to the correct URLs. then you can also clear out what's inside the templates_c folder which is usually at drupal_root/sites/default/files/civicrm/templates_c (essentially this is clearing out some cached data).

Thank you for your ideas.  I checked all of the settings suggested, they are pointing to the right places, and I cleared the files as recommended.  Still no luck.  I do not know that it relates or not but the calendar drop down and date entry fields are non-functional in my profiles (they cannot receive entries). I can fill out the rest of the fields on the  forms just not those requiring dates.  I will open a seperate post for that but mention it here just in case it somehow relates.

hmmm are you using any drupal modules that are jquery/ajax related? i've seen it in the past where some of these cause problems. can you test by disabling contrib modules temporarily and see if that fixes both your problems?

The fix

I finally just reinstalled the related civicrm files.  Did the trick.  I must have corrupted something along the way.
