Civimail groups and civimember status

Hi,

Does CiviMail have any clue as to the membership status of a contact in CiviMember?  If I send a message to group will it it send it to all members including expired?  Is there a way to get a dynamic group for current members that I don't have to manually update?

Yes - do an Adv Search on the criteria you want eg Members who are New Current or New CUrrent and Grace - then make a New Smart Group via More Actions. This is then a 'remembered search' and will only include the people in the group who meet the criteria at the time of using civimail to send to them.
