CiviMail & Joomal problem
May 02, 2007, 03:57:47 pm
I am using Joomla 1.8 and CiviCRM 1.7.beta.9327.
I did configure the CiviMail following the instruction on the CiviCRM wiki. When I try to email to a group in CiviCRM and reach the 4th step in that procedure (Send a Testing Mail); I keep getting the following error message:

Please correct the following errors in the form fields below:
    * The test mailing could not be delivered due to the following error:
authentication failure [SMTP: Authentication failed. (code: 221, response: cpanel.ev1servers.net closing connection)]

I also use Drupal along with CiviCRM, the above error is not generated and receiptients receive that email. It is the same mail server I use for Joomla also.

I am trying to get it working for last two weeks.
Can you please help me with this? I appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance,

Donald Lobo

asukho:

1. Did u make sure u've set your smtp server name and port in the SMTP Configuration page in global settings

2. Looks like your host needs a password. Did you set the SMTP password in civicrm.settings.php file (in administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm.settings.php)

thanx
