CiviCRM still in tmp folder after installation
April 05, 2010, 10:24:46 am
After installing CIviCRM, I have components/com_civicrm/ vith just one folder: views.
Everything else is till under tmp/ folder where I uploaded files when installing.

Everything works fine, but recenrly I wanted to run a chron job and found out that under com_civicrm there is no civicrm folder where my chron job php is suposed to be (/bin).

So, can I just safely move all the files from tmp folder into the components/com_civicrm/civicrm? I mean files under tmp/civicirm/admin/ folder etc?

I have no issues with installation, I just cannot find where the civicrm realyy is i.e. from which webfolder it is running.

oops, found it under /administrator folder

Can I move the whole folder crm under components/ folder? Just copy/paste and change of path in settings.php?

it's already in administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/bin/

joomla doesn't delete the install package from /tmp/ on installation, which is why the copy you oriignally uploaded is still there

Thanks, so why does it have to be in the administrator folder and not in let's say, components folder? Can I just copy it there?

don't worry about it. that's just how the civi code is structured. it would lose file include references if you picked it up and moved it.
