Offline payments for Events

Hi all,

I was hoping to have move all our events onto CiviCRM so that we have all the information available for easy export to our accounts person.   At the moment we're using printed booking forms, which is leading to data entry being done twice - the person's details into CiviCRM and the persons name and payment into the Accounts Daybook - which I want to avoid.

We're mostly a cash business, so for most of our events we take cash over the counter.  We also usually take deposits for most events, with the balance being payed on the day of the event itself.

Is it possible to use CiviCRM to record offline payments for events, and to record the amount the person pays?  Sometimes they will pay differnt amounts as a deposit, we have to be pretty flexible.

I was looking in the forums for something like this, and only found

which looks great but not implemented yet.  Or am I missing something?

schema support for the below is coming in 3.2. Code support for it will come in some future versions. You might want to chat with andrew perry and help contribute $$$ or developer resources to implement this earlier rather than later
