Customising templates
April 05, 2010, 12:55:09 pm
Hi, Sorry if I'm posting this to the wrong board, I'm not quite sure where my problem lies.

I'm trying to customise a couple of templates, and have found the documentation about creating a new directory structure for them and copying the original files and have done this.  The new directory structure has the same configuration as the existing template structure, but my files are just not being used.

I have experimented with removing the original file and then get a smarty error that it can't find a file on the search path. The search path in the error message is just the original template path.

I'm really hoping someone has some ideas?

Did you remember to include the CRM folder?

ie. <customtemplatepath>/CRM/Event/Form/Register.php

vs

<customtemplatepath>/Event/Form/Register.php

I've tripped on that a few times

My template folder starts CRM and the directory to be included is /var.../templates/

I've even put some files to be included in the existing file in the base templates directory and that's not working either.

I'm not sure if this is a red herring or not, but the SMARTY error that is returned only shows the standard civicrm path on the search list.

Cheers

Did you configure the custom templates directory from Administer >> Configure >> Global Settings >> Directories screen?

Hi,

Directory path is set to: /var/www/vhosts/wnpc.org.nz/httpdocs/civicrm_custom/templates/

CiviCRM setting for custom files is: /var/www/vhosts/wnpc.org.nz/httpdocs/wnpcnew/sites/default/files/civicrm/custom/
