Daylight Savings Issues
April 05, 2010, 01:07:08 pm
I have recently set up a new site and just before daylight savings ended entered a whole lot of events.  Once daylight savings clicked over, all my events have the wrong time (by 1 hour).

I also now have a mismatch between Drupal and CiviCRM by an hour, and have no idea how to fix it.

the easiest fix might be to set the timezone setting in php.ini

alternatively you can set this via the hook_civicrm_config or drupal's hook_init

Hi,

I've checked out the database and system php settings for timezone.
The database reports SYSTEM
PHP report Pacific/Auckland which is what I'd expect

I've got a call into our hosting provider to confirm what the server is set to, but am not seeing any issues with the settings - except possibly that we have done from NZDT to NZST (at least that's how they are generally referred to in UNIX terms). I'm not sure how saying Pacific/Auckland deals with the +/- hour thing though.

I'm now wondering if this was a server issue as the dates now seem to be correct and in sych with each other.  I'm keen on pursuing why though as I don't want to have to worry at the start of daylight savings later in the year.

On a possibly unrelated note, when I try to import an event calendar into Drupal using the events path and an iCal feed, my events are all put in the calendar for the next day and I'm not even close to figuring out why that might be happening either. Specifically, all events that start after midday seem to be a day ahead in the calendar view, those that are in the morning seem fine.  It's a little odd...
