xx Edit/View Drupal Accounts & Public

--Sorry. Self fixed.  My organic group ACL over rides the user and user admin settings for a profile. --

Drupal 6 + CRM 3.1

I'm not sure if this is an error, if I should try a different method, or have a bad setting which I missed.

On a profile, I enable view/edit drupal account.
I have most of the fields set for user/user setting only and only two set for public. (I don't want addresses exposed.)
I want other users to see some user profile information, but not all.
My other non-admin users can see all the fields.  (which I don't want.)

Is this normal behavior, (view/edit drupal account bypasses overrides field view settings)?

Further checking, my logged in (non-admin) user has view access to "user + user admin" fields on regular profiles as well.  Is there a permission that gives a user access to all user profile info?

My authenticated user has
access all custom data ?? this just applied to other fields.
access uploaded files
access CiviMail subscribe/unsubscribe pages
profile listings and forms ??
and some event settings..

Is this pretty standard permissions for an authenticated user?

Hmm. May be an ACL issue as a second test user gets a different set of permissions..

if a user has access to a profile, the user has access to all profile fields for her record. i.e. there is no field level permissioning with regard to the fields for the user itself
