Access control and groups
April 05, 2010, 05:00:02 pm
If I set up access control and allow a certain user group to only view/edit contacts in a certain group, the users restricted to using that group can add contacts, without specifying which group they are added to. this makes it so that they are not able to edit the records they have created.
Is there a way to create a default group for the records that a user creates?
Is there a way to restrict access to only the group they have when creating records?

You could use a profile form to create a contact. And you set the profile's settings so that a contact created with this form will always be added to a specified group.
