Event admin not supporting the business process - solution needed

This seems related to http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,11703.msg55299.html#msg55299 but deserves its own post.

If an event is paid for and the user does not attend but the business policy is to keep the amount, there is no way to change the participant status to know show.
The admin is constantly given:

* Please select at least one option from price set.

This seems related to contribution being tied to participants status. The 3.1 upgrade was lovely for dashboard but is a real headache now for changing and keeping records up to date.

I see eileen mentions changes for 3.2 in above post link  but I would like to find a solution for this before next release.

Can anyone point to one?

Hi,

The link you posted doesn't have my post in it but the patch I submitted does sound like the same problem and I am using the patch on 3.1.3. I think they may intend on including it in 3.2 not 3.1.4 but you can apply it to 3.1.3.

Sorry about the link Eileen (posting after a 4hr css bug chase...)
have fixed the link now.

The patch you mention - I am not sure i would know anything about it if you hadn't mentioned it - I looked on sourceforge but couldnt see a patch directory. Is it in a developer SVN branch? Would love to try it, hack it in to 3.1.3

Can you point me :)

Cool. If anyone else uses it please post because I think it would be good if it were in 3.1.4 because a few people seem to be affected
