Upgrading from 2.2.7 to 3.1.1
April 08, 2010, 09:12:49 pm
This is still not working.  I tried the entire upgrade process again with my backed up original db from 2.2.7 to 3.1.1 this time.  The first screen was fine- green CiviCRM upgrade screeen.  I clicked start and then it went immediately to a white screen.  I reloaded the page and then it went to an error screen telling me that the db was already partially upgraded and I'd need to start over.

This is starting to get very frustrating.  Can anyone help out with suggestions on this?

Also is there any way on this forum to up the file size attachment to above 32KB so I can upload some screenshots of what I'm seeing?  32K limit is very small and it won't even let me upload one of my JPG screens.

might want to consider attaching the image on a third party server and providing a link to it. We've been running out of space on our SMF db and hence restrict the size of images uploaded

most likely this is a limitation in your hosting provider either with regard to memory limit or execution time or both

Ok I've moved the site over to my localhost to try the upgrade to 3.1 there.  I have my memory limit set to 128M for my localhost PHP.  What is the recommended settings for max_execution_time and max_input_time for upgrade purposes?

Re: Upgrading from 2.2.7 to 3.1.1

I was successful in upgrading from 2.2.7 to 3.1.1 on my localhost.  It worked without issue.  However when I try upgrading to 3.1.3 now I get timeouts again.  It looks like it tries to load the upgrade screen but then timeouts and says the server is taking too long to respond and it says it's trying to connect to localhost.com which is weird since it's localhost.  In any event why would the 3.1.1 to 3.1.3 give me issues.  Seems very odd since the 2.2.7 to 3.1.1 worked fine.

Any suggestions?  Do I actually need to run the full upgrade path and process to go from 3.1.1 to 3.1.3?

I think your domain information is getting messed up, the ajax is probably confused.

Check your process of moving your site to your local host, and or edit/check your domain settings (particularly the resource urls). If they're messed up, it'll show up in other places also.
