Importing Members: usernames and passwords?
April 09, 2010, 10:33:11 am
Hello!

I am working with an organization whose member database already has usernames and passwords (and unique IDs) for each member.

I have opened a topic regarding import of unique IDs, but is there a way to import login information using CiviMember or contact import?

I would ultimately like for each contact/member to have a Drupal login.

Thanks!

Lobo,

Does this, in fact, work with CiviCRM?

lobo,

I have installed it, and I see how I can import contacts into the database.  But, I can't see how this could sync up with my CiviCRM contacts.

What I believe I want to do is this:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Creating+a+Drupal+user+for+every+CiviCRM+contact

Is this no longer a good way to do it?

Richard

Richard,

Did this work for you?  My issue is that I will be receiving spreadsheets with users to import. The spreadsheet contains a field which will go into a CiviCRM custom field, so I need to import into CiviCRM first.

I then need to create Drupal accounts for each user.

It looks like I'll have to use the import feature and then the user import module for Drupal.

I have the same question you had about how does it (and if it does it) sync up the Drupal user and CiviCRM contact.

Thanks,
Rachel
