What's special about 3.1.4?

I'm reviewing the bug tracker and noticing over 70 fixes for 3.1.4.  I just wanted to say thank you to all involved.  It seems to me that post-3.1 the stability of the software was not, shall we say, ideal.

I am glad to see that effort is being made on 3.1.4 to fix an above-average number of bugs.  Normally a release contains 20 or 30 patches.    I look forward to installing 3.1.4 confidently for a variety of users that have grown increasingly apprehensive about new releases.
