Preventing some people from viewing Contribution areas
October 11, 2007, 09:13:08 pm
How can I set up CiviCRM so that a volunteer can set up CiviEvent Event pages in the backend, but not view the contributions made or any financial info.

I think I need to use ACLs, but I cannot figure how to set this up.

I am using Joomla 1.0.13 with CiviCRM 1.8. Running on PHP5.

Thanks,
Sarah

You should read this section: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Access+Control (i deleted kurund's reply by mistake)

You should experiment and give the user administer civicrm and access civievent permissions. Enable other permissions as needed

We dont have fine grained access control as yet :(, but i think it might meet your needs

The features mentioned on that page only work in Drupal, not Joomla.  :(  Looks like I'll have to wait for a future release.

Something strange: When I use CiviCRM 1.7 with Joomla 1.0.13, I have the "Access Control" icon in the CiviCRM administrative area.    Yet when I use CiviCRM 1.8 with Joomla 1.0.13, the "Access Control" icon does NOT show up in the CiviCRM administrative area. Why is this happening?

Thanks,
Sarah

Hi

Is there a possibility that this feature can be activated in Joomla?

Thanks a lot.

1. please dont activate very old topics

2. that was a bug and was rectified. ACL's for joomla will be part of a future undetermined release. If important to you / your org consider sponsoring this feature
