Series of "USer Smarty" errors on 3.1.x demo site
April 14, 2010, 09:12:31 am
Hi,
Sorry to post this here but the link to add new topics to 3.1 release testing is no longer present. I guess because it is stable   ???

I logged into the demo site to do some work with Profiles. If I click on "New CiviCRM profile: or if I try to look at the "Settings" of a pre-existing profile I get a series of the following errors:

# user error: Smarty error: [in CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp line 91]: syntax error: mismatched tag {/htxt}. expected {/ts} (opened line 90). (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 2338) in /var/www/drupal-6.civicrm.org/svn/civicrm3.1/packages/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1093.
# user error: Smarty error: [in CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp line 109]: syntax error: unclosed tag \{htxt} (opened line 82). (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 317) in /var/www/drupal-6.civicrm.org/svn/civicrm3.1/packages/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1093.
# user error: Smarty error: [in CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp line 91]: syntax error: mismatched tag {/htxt}. expected {/ts} (opened line 90). (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 2338) in /var/www/drupal-6.civicrm.org/svn/civicrm3.1/packages/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1093.

Just wanted to let you know.

Thanks,
Cynthia

Hi! I installed a CivicCRM Drupal installation yesterday on our servers and the installation went fine, but I am also getting the same errors noted above as in the demo site namely when trying to access profile settings.  I looked at the fix listed in the above thread and modified the lines in Group.hlp file which solved the errors of missing tags but now when the profile setting is accessed new smarty errors show up as following:

recoverable fatal error: Object of class CRM_Core_Config could not be converted to string in /var/www/html/sites/default/files/civicrm/templates_c/en_US/en_US/%%76/76B/76B4E5C4%%Group.hlp.php on line 64.

How can I fix the same.  I know that the original post was to check the demo site but the same error flows in installations that have been just downloaded.  Could you post a fix for these.

Try replacing Group.hlp with latest file from svn - http://svn.civicrm.org/civicrm/branches/v3.1/templates/CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp and see if that fixes the issue.

Also clear you template cache (to be safe).

Hi!

I did replace the Group.hlp file and cleared the template cache.  But the same error abut could not be converted to string noted in my earler post above still persists. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Raj M

Hi,

Please forgive my lack of knowledge (my number of posts is a hint).

Where can the Group.hlp file be found in a Joomla installation?

Many thanks,

G

On Joomla the their is no templates folder. CRM/UF is found under administrator/components/com_civcrm/civcrm/CRM/UF/Form and the only Group file we have is a .php file. I have the same problem on my Joomla install and I cant find the help file anywhere. Is it possilble we are missing the templates folder for the Joomla install?

lobo made a typo. The path is -
administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/templates/CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp

Thanks Deepak I swore that I looked there as well?? But anyhow the patch worked that was located on the above post. Thanks for the reply. Is there a post anywhere that shows where are the default hardcoded text is displayed at in the mysql tables. I have had to make a couple of corrections and its a bear to search the database looking for text strings.

Thanks in advance you guys rock. :)
