Can't Find UserId error - DRUPAL /CiviCRM
April 16, 2010, 12:30:49 pm
I am having a stange problem.  I am getting the following error when I try and access CiviCRM (v2.2.2) from the DRUPAL account menu (v 6.11)
"We could not find a user id. You must be logged in to access the CiviCRM Home Page and menus."  And I can't reach CiviCRM admin from the DRUPAL user account menu.  I do not seem to be having any trouble with any of the DRUPAL admin menu functions.

the problem is that I am ALREADY logged in as Admin (as a matter of fact, I am using the User1 account)  I was forced to reset the DRUPAL user1 admin password  due to some staffing problems but I don't know if that caused the problem since I was not on staff at that time.  I can reach CiviCRM using a secondary admin menu that was installed but this is an annoying error that keeps popping up and I need to correct it before doing any upgrades to a more current version of CiviCRM.   Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Maybe more details would help. Also, that's a pretty old civicrm version.

In any case, it sounds like some nasty hacks got in there, not just reseting the password. There's a table in civicrm that matches up users in drupal and constituents in civicrm, you might look at that to see if something is looking bad.

It's confusing though, that you can access civicrm via a different url. Can you be more specific (which ones give you what messages...)?

Thanks for the reply - it is possible that it could be a hack.  I don't know what happened to these files the six month that I wasn't involved with this project - and the previous "help" was terminated.  Maybe I should just do the upgrade to version 3.x.  Will have to think a bit more on this one!  Thanks for your reply.
