Adding customize fields during online registration
October 12, 2007, 11:51:07 am
I want to add custom fields to the online registration to collect info from the users, such as first name, last name, phone number, address, etc.  Currently, it seems to only ask for the email address.  I tried adding new fields in the Custom Data page but those fields only seem to show up when I am creating the event, and not when someone tries to register the event online.  Anyone know how I can create these fields and have them appear during the online registration process.  Thanks.

1. Create Custom Data Group of type "Participant" (not "Event").

2. Create a Profile with Only custom data that you created.

3. Add this profile to Online Event Registration page.

It works perfectly but only if I'm logged in as an admin user.  If I go to the event registration page without logging in, I would get the following error

"This profile is not configured for the requested action. Contact the site administrator if you need assistance."

if I click on the register button.  I cannot seem to figure this out.  Any help would be appreciated.

Nevermind.  I figured it out.  It turned out that I needed to add permissions to access all custom data and profile listings and forms for anonymous user on the Access Control page for it to work properly.

Thanks for your help Kurund!

I have the same problem: "You are not authorized to access this page. " I have in Drupal permissions checked off for anonymous:

access CiviContribute
access all custom data
make online contributions
profile listings and forms
access content
access user profiles

Then in Manage ACLs page I also added:

Any Role   Edit   Profile   All Profiles
Any Role   Edit   Custom Group   Reason For Donating

where "Reason For Donating" is a dropdown that shows on the page. Looks great as admin but anyone else is shut out.

What am I missing?

Thanks.
