issue 1:

The problem here is the monitor display resolution setup. When the resolution wide is less then (about) 960px the right side content is dissapearing. When this is a button than there is a problem!
Try it on the test side make a smaller window on the contact search page http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/contact/search/basic?reset=1) the search button goes behind reach and there is no horizontal scrolling.

Most (all?) of the content of civicrm is fluid, the line with the search button in advanced searsch is not fluid,  lucky there is a scroll bar.
