Greeting,

My web hosting provider only support PHP 4.3, which version of CiviCRM I can use? I want event registration and PayPal functions. Would you provide me the requirements and installation instructions?

Thanks.

php 4 support was dropped with version 2.0

it really would be in your best interest to relocate to a hosting provider supporting php 5.2.x
not only would you need to use a very old version of the software in order to run on php 4.x, but it would be an unsupported version, so you would have limited help if you ran into bugs or security issues

Thank you for your reply. Would you recommend a dependable web hosting company?
