We need to set to where each new member will get an incrementally larger number when we enter them in. Even if the program wouldn't do it automatically, I'd need to know what the last number was so I could enter the next number.

I'm using CiviCRM  3.1.1 with Drupal 6.

I have searched a lot and found one mention way back several years ago saying newer versions of CiviCRM would do it, to one with some sort of hook you could do if you knew a LOT about php and mysql, which I do not.

I can't find any post which tells you how to do it except to use the complicated hook. I had hoped the new version of CiviCRM might do this?
