Upgrade from 3.1.2 to 3.1.4 Fatal Error issue in CivicCRM Profile Admin
April 20, 2010, 03:43:11 pm
Hi I am using Joomla 1.5.15, PHP version is 5.2.13 SQL database Version is 5.0.67

Everything bar the CIVI CRM profiles seems to have been upgraded fine but when I go to settings  in the profile administration or if I try to make a new profile I get the following error:-

Profile Name *
Used For
Fatal error: Smarty error: [in CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp line 91]: syntax error: mismatched tag {/htxt}. expected {/ts} (opened line 90). (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 2338) in /home/nargonco/domains/nargon.co.nz/public_html/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1093

The template for CIVICRM also disappears when this error is displayed.

I can edit and preview all of the fields in any one profile delete and copy profiles just not view any of the settings.

I have also just noticed that the contacts menu item is not showing in the navigation - I have check the navigation settings and there is no reason why it should not be there.

I have reset permission on all CIVICRM files in the backend and chmood them to 777

Please help

website is www.nargon.co.nz

Mentioned behavior is already fixed for CiviCRM v3.1
Fix code would be part of v3.1.5

Following is the patch that u might be interesting,

I was able to fix this error by replacing the Group.hlp file in administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/templates/CRM/UF/Form with the updated version of this at

http://fisheye2.atlassian.com/browse/~raw,r=27090/CiviCRM/branches/v3.1/templates/CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp

I was unable to edit the file directly so had to use a html editor to paste the above and make a new group.hlp file.  however if you have a similiar problem with Profile settings in Joomla for CivicCRM 3.4 and are able to directly edit the above file then the changelog fix is

http://fisheye2.atlassian.com/changelog/CiviCRM/?cs=27090

The contact menu item has now been replaced.

Fine, I made the changes and now I get the following error:

Catchable fatal error: Object of class CRM_Core_Config could not be converted to string in /public_html/media/civicrm/templates_c/en_US/pt_PT/%%76/76B/76B4E5C4%%Group.hlp.php on line 64

How can I solve this?
