Multiple Registration
April 23, 2010, 04:23:30 am
Hi,

Though I am not an expert in CiviCRM, I wont say that I am beginner either. I have been using CiviCRM for a while now. But there is something that I am not being able to figure out.

We would like to offer discounted prices for two and more attendees and I am not sure how can I do that in CiviEvent. e.g. attendee one €200 and subsequent attendees at € 150 making
two attendees €350
three attendees €500

I tried setting up Price Sets but then it doesn't ask for contact information for the number of attendees selected. Which is very crucial as the details of all the attendees is required for the purpose of organizing the event and communicating with each attendee, than just with the one person who has done the registration. It will also allow me to be very specific in offerings at the event as I would know every attendee.

Anyone who has done this or something similar, in the past can please guide me through?
Thanks in advance, your response is much appreciated.
Regards,
Aparna

Aparna,

Although, I don't have any answer but would like to tell you that you are in the wrong sub-topic.

It should be in CiviEvent http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/board,16.0.html

I am sure the moderator will be able to move this post to the relevant section.

i have not tried this, but it should work

how about implementing the buildAmount hook, give the discount only if buildAmount is invoked from the AdditionalParticipant page. You can use the formName to check where its invoked from

I am having a similar (perhaps an identical) problem, but I cannot understand the answer given here.
"how about implementing the buildAmount hook"

Where can I go about finding instructions on how to do that?

What that means is to write a Drupal module which will use that "hook." To do this you will need to know how to program in PHP. If you don't, then you could consider hiring a professional.
