Just checked - there is almost no db change in 3.1.3. to 3.1.5 - It is just geographical/ a change to ensure you have a 'reserved' membership status of pending.

Hi,

Kyle has hit the same problem & he is on 3.1.5 so that won't fix it. Hopefully his investigations will shed some light -

Hey Eileen, I don't think I know Kyle. Does he have a thread somewhere I can subscribe to so I can follow his progress?

I pointed him to this thread but he doesn't have one - go onto IRC & look out for kylejaster - or find him on the forum & send him a pm - he also goes by 'rayogram'

(he has a blog too - he has done a lot to improve the visual aspects of Civi & the way it plays with css)

Just to confirm (and for Kyle's benefit, should he be checking in on this thread), I just ran a fresh test on our website and came up with the same thing: The transaction went through but the user record was not updated with a membership status.

Did you check whether changing the  'execute live transaction' setting made any difference (not that it necessarily should I just remember running foul of it once before)

Do you mean placing the sandbox credentials into the live settings and running it that way?

It's a contribution page configuration item. I just described it from memory it might be real-time transactions or something like that

Oh! Right. I know that setting. "Execute real-time monetary transactions," under "Contribution Amounts." Let's see how it turns out...

Well...okay. Yes, I've successfully created a new membership this way (nothing shows up under the Membership dashboard nor on a "find members" search from within CiviMember, but the transaction appears in the sidebar and the fake contact is added to the contact db -- when I view the fake contact's record, it appears to be a renewal, not a new membership even though there's a "Status: New" note next to it). But I'm never sent to Paypal for the transaction. I'm not even sure how we'd go about getting the money online.

OK - it was just a troubleshooting . Jump on the IRC & try to talk to Kyle on there - there's a link @ the top of the page
