I am trying to search an "event" from the pull down menu, the event i want to search is not listed, and when i enter it manually by copying the event from the event information page, it doesn't find it

Are other "ajax-powered" widgets working on your site? For example, can you use the "Contact Search" block which auto-completes contact names as you type. If not, then search this forum for "dojo" problems. If so, then I'm not sure what's up - best to set up an event exactly like the one(s) you can't find in your advanced search on our demo site and try and recreate the problem.
