Changing default dedupe rules
April 30, 2010, 06:58:27 am
I created a new dedupe rule for a complicated import that I was doing. I somehow managed to make it a default rule, which at the time I wanted. I want to keep the rule but I do not want it to be default any longer but for the life of me I cannot find where to change that setting. I went to the page 'Find and Merge Duplicate Contacts' and can make changes to the rule but I cannot change the setting that makes it a default rule. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

There's some issues w/ the UI for managing those rules - as described here:
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-6169

However, in most cases if you've created additional rules(s), you should be able to click the 'more' link and see a Make Default action which you can use to swap default rules. We agree that this is not a very intuitive interface and will add the Default? [ x ] checkbox to the form in 3.2.
