Error: "Your user record does not have a valid email address"
May 02, 2010, 04:51:05 pm
I am the site admin, and my email address is valid.  At least, I use it all the time.  Somehow, my SMTP settings stopped working recently, and in the process of fixing them, another error has appeared.  Anytime I try to send a "save and test" email, or send an email to a user via an activity, I get this error:

Your user record does not have a valid email address

Yet the email address is in the record, and seems to be working.  I think before I can fix the SMTP settings (via google apps), this needs to be fixed.  I have edited the email address, using another working alternative.  I am mystified as to what the problem is.  Any ideas?

Maria

Further information:

It turns out that my SMTP settings are fine, the real problem is that the admin user account does not have a valid email address, even though it does.  I logged in as another user with admin privileges, and was able to emails information from that account.

This means that both the main admin account and another email account both have the same problem, as I was notified of this by the primary database user.  yet both of us appear to have valid email addresses, and mail can be sent to us by another user.

Any help to figure out why CiviCRM is not registering these addresses would be very much appreciated as it is the two admin accounts that are compromised.  I can't delete my account since it is also the primary drupal account.
