How do you set participant role for collecting data?

We have additional questions for folks who want to ask for a scholarship for our conference. I can't figure out how to set participant role to scholarship so that the scholarship profile opens up in the conference registration form. It looks to me like I need to set up two events -- one for regular registration and one for scholarship registration.

I'm using CiviCRM 3.1.2.

hey judy:

yes, for now two events is the easiest option. You might also want to upgrade to 3.1.4 since we've had a lot of bug fixes in that release
