when adding a new contribution, contact doesn't auto-populate

If I add a new contribution and start typing in the "select contact" field it does not auto-populate with the contacts already stored in civicrm.  I tried it on the demo site and it works fine there of course.  Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Does it work for other auto complete ? check for navigation menu auto complete.

can u clear your browser cache and delete template_c folder from 'drupal base dir'/sites/default/files/civicrm/

    Thank you for the suggestions. I did the following per your instructions:

    • Cleared the browser cache
    • Deleted template_c directory
    • Tried the navigation bar and auto-complete is not working.
    • Tried the "new contribution" and auto-complete is not working as well

    So far no luck.[/list]

    Just a guess -

    can u confirm your resource urls from Administer CiviCRM -> Global Settings -> Resource URLs
    related demo site url to access resource urls is : http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/url&reset=1

    Here is where they are currently set to:
    Civicrm Resource url
    Code: [Select]
    sites/all/modules/civicrm/Image upload url
    Code: [Select]
    sites/default/files/civicrm/upload Temporary Files
    Code: [Select]
    sites/default/files/civicrm/upload/Images
    Code: [Select]
    sites/default/files/civicrm/persist/contribute/Custom
    Code: [Select]
    sites/default/files/civicrm/custom/Just noticed the note on that page that says the webserver needs to have write permission to those directories.  I will verify that it does.
