We (a charity / ngo in germany) started to use civicrm with the relaunch of our new website only two month ago. We are in the process of moving our CRM tasks to civicrm but it will take us a couple of month to finish this. Right now we mainly use civicrm to collect the data of new newsletter subscribers.

In the meantime we still have to send out our newsletter and other mailings with our old mailing system. The problem there is when someone wants to unsubscribe or optout they can only send us back an e-mail with this request and we have to manually set the unsubscribe or optout in civicrm. As you can imagine this is quite some work when you have bigger lists.

What we would like to do is to export the unsubscribe / optout url (or at least the important parts of it) for all contacts and import them into our old database so that we can use our old mailing system but also send out unsubscribe / optout links in the mails that civicrm can understand.

Is there a way to export the unsubscribe / optout url?

The opt-out URL is a combination of the checksum in civicrm & a URL - you might be able to construct it (per individual) by appending the checksum to the main url.

Or you could expose the groups to the contact dashboard & send them there? There is another URL which is a little better for this but I can never remember what it is
