We have been working a issue for awhile now.

In the civimail bounce report screen:

Bounce Type: Invalid

Bounce Reason: Unknown bounce type: Could not parse bounce email

We have attempted several mailing and have the same addresses bouncing.

We have confirmed the address are truly I grouped the bounces, took the people off hold, then resent the mailing.

In my test set of 30, only 1 of the 29 individuals did not bounce and that was because he created a drupal login the day before.

Our CiviCRM version is 3.1.3, would an upgrade help?
FYI we are on a dedicated vps server.

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

Hi,

typically, the reason the type of bounce is unknown is because your sever disconnects from our mailserver or your server was not able to to connect to our server. This could happen due to restrictions by your web host. if you would like, you can add civismtp@uas.coop to your test list and we can confirm that we received or did not receive a test mailing.
