Odd behaviour since last upgrade
May 07, 2010, 07:22:59 am
I'm having a couple of odd things happen since I upgraded last weekend -

1.  Imports are working fine, but for only a subset of the records in a file (a CSV file with 40 records imported 12, then 15, etc. until they were all in, but didn't give me any error, and the records seem fine when they're there, but I'll have three more batches of about 100 records next week, so it's tedious to have to import a few, then check that they're good, then edit the file ... )  I've seen another thread about this problem in the Import forum, so I'm looking into what might be in the csv file that could be breaking it.

2.  But then, when I search, I get the right number of records as a result (same folks I'm importing) but the display is off - the default screen seems to show me 10 (but says it's 1-25 of 32) then if I ask for a display of 50, I get 5 showing (still saying it's displaying 1-25 of 32) then when I click on 100, I get 28 (but it says it's showing me all).

3.  When I try to send an email to "all records" it shows me multiple instances (from three to seven copies) of each address, and doesn't actually include all addresses.  When I do selected, it seems to work, but is only selecting whatever is displayed (which is not correct).

#3 is the most worrisome, because I need to be sending an email to each person imported, so I don't want to have to check against the import file each time to see if each person actually got sent something.

Everything looked fine with 3.13 (but we were having other issues with a profile display that made me want to upgrade).

I've done more work with this, and have more information (although not really any idea why anything is happening).

on 1 - the imports have been working properly (at least when I import a file with 89 records, it imports 89 records, with minor exceptions that come out in an error file as expected).

but I just imported 13 records, and added them to an event.  When I did the search, I got all 13 records, and then did "add to event" it said 39 records added to the event.  When I look at one of those contacts, it shows 11 copies of the event.  Then, when I try to "send email to all" I get 11 copies of that one, 5-7 of a few others, and a single of the rest, but all 13 are included.  I haven't tried the mail for the set of 89 records that I imported this morning.
