When I add an event registration to a contact,  or rather, I manually register a contact for an event, I view the contact, go the events tab, I click "New Event Registration", I register them, I choose the appropriate event fee (it is a paid event) - they are now registered for the event,  but then this registration does not show up as a contribution in civicontribute. But if I register online, I am a)registered for the event, and b)the event fee is then added to the list of contributions in civicontribute. 

I had to go and seperately add an event type contribution for this contact to civicontribute to get this new event fee to show up and keep my total amount up to date.

is that a bug? am i doing something wrong?

OK, thank you for your response!   At least I know I am not missing something this time around. I appreciate your help and I will look into a fix...it's pretty important. The double entry after an event for walk ins is pretty inefficient...especially since it is doable when people do it online.  Thanks!
