Joomla 1.5.17 Administrator's Menu not active after upgrade ?

I just upgraded CiviCrm on a Joomla 1.5.17 from 3.0.4 to the latest 3.1.4 and so far everything went ok, except that when I am using CiviCRM on the Joomla administrator, the links to access the main Joomla menu at the top of the page are not active any longer.

I checked the demo site on CiviCRM and it is working fine but the Joomla version is 1.5.14... it might be an issue with the new Joomla 1.5.17 version... anybody has a the same issue with Joomla 1.5.17?
