Changing label of Payment Instrument causes data to fail to be saved
May 10, 2010, 01:40:50 am
Hi - we edited 'Check' to 'Cheque' and have just discovered that as a result and data entered in to the Check Number field has not been saved!

We have replicated this on Demo. CHange name of Payment Instrument Check >> CHeque

Create contribution. select Paid by Cheque - enter Check Number, Save.

View or Edit record, Check Number is blank

I had this issue as well, and would note that upgrading my version of CiviCRM didn't fix it.

Specifically: switching the label back and forth from Check to Cheque has the field label and empty value appearing and disappearing in the contribution view screen, and in both cases, it won't save any check number.

I'll take a look at the fix and see if there's something I need to do with my database as well.

Yes, it turns out that the in the civicrm_option_value table, both name and label had been changed from Check to Cheque. Fixed via mysql.
