deleting civicrm.settings.php
May 10, 2010, 04:19:25 pm
This is a draft site without much data, and I want to uninstall 3.1.4 to replace with 3.1.2 until the javascript problem in 3.1.4 is remedied. Reinstalling from scratch would be OK, too.

I've tried the upgrade process, but it notices the existing database is set for 3.1.4 and stubbornly refuses to downgrade to match the 3.1.2 codebase.

If I try the install script instead, it tells me CiviCRM is already installed, and I need to get rid of civicrm.settings.php. But I can't seem to delete this file even with permissions wide open.

Any ideas?

Check the permissions on the folder, not the file. If the permissions are correct then you must be able to delete this file. This anyhow is the simplest way to reinstall. If you can't delete, ask your hosting support for assistance.

Thanks for the tip - I had tried changing the default directory to 777 without luck and just tried that again, but nothing. I guess I have to submit a ticket. (odd.)
